Users are often expected to know where a transferred file was stored, or to navigate the ugly web 1.0 upload process, or know and understand the repetition required in posting multiple files for a single purpose...
I've made a few (Flex 2, Flex 3 - ActionScript 3) file management widgets by leveraging the Flash FileReference object, FileFilter object and/or extending the Flex UIComponent.
